One such very important rule is you are not allowed to get closer to a whale less than 100 yards when you are watching the whales. Federal laws also apply to aircrafts. Aircrafts are not allowed to enter to 1,000 foot over flight bubble around the whale pods. You can observe the laws when you are watching the whales. The flight operator and boat operator certainly know about these rules and they follow them.
