In 1819 King Kamehameha II of Hawaii, held a festival to celebrate the end of religious taboos concerning dining in the country.  The Queen was a strong influence in bringing about change to old traditions where men and women where separated during meals and certain foods were forbidden to women and commoners.  This feast was called the Luau and is still celebrated to this day.  At the Old Lahaina, a Luau party starts with a greeting of a fresh flower lei presented to you by your host for the evening.  Cocktails and beverages are available all evening and you are treated to a buffet of traditional Hawaiian food that will tantalize your taste buds.  You will then be treated to a music production of the history and people of Hawaii.

Also in Lahaina you will find the Moose McGillycuddy’s Pub and Café.  Here you can let your hair down and party until the sun comes up.  A DJ will keep your feet moving and your body shaking to the latest hits with the best sound and video equipment available.  For an unforgettable party be sure to visit the Moose.

For some more stylish entertainment the Maui Arts and Culture Centre produces world class productions of high standards with local and international performers. Shows not to miss are the Ulalena at Maui Theatre, Tony and Tina’s Wedding at the Hayatt Regency Resort in Kaanapali and a not to be missed show in Lahaina called Warren and Annabelle’s Magic show.
